WORKSHOP TECHNICIAN REQUIRED IN COVENTRY

Have you previously worked within the Defence or Off-Highway sector, and do you have any experience repairing and maintaining military vehicles, heavy goods vehicles, coaches or similar vehicles, and are you seeking a new permanent job opportunity? We are looking for an experienced Workshop Technician with the above skill set to join a leading re-manufacturing business in Coventry. This role is working day shifts (8.00am - 16.30pm) Monday to Friday, and is paying a salary up to Β£35,000 per annum (DOE). This role would be a great fit for someone who has previously worked as a Maintenance Fitter, Vehicle Technician, HGV Technician, HGV Fitter, LGV Fitter, LGV Technician, Plant Fitter or Plant Technician.

What You Will Do:

  • Conduct diagnostic testing, servicing, and repairs on heavy plant and defence-related equipment.
  • Assess the overall condition of products and strip units following work instructions.
  • Evaluate individual components to ensure they meet required standards and commercial viability.
  • Build and test products to original equipment specifications, adhering to manufacturer instructions and company guidelines.
  • Accurately complete job cards, production tracking sheets, and QHSE documentation.
  • Maintain high-quality workmanship while adhering to company procedures, including health and safety standards.

What You Will Bring:

  • Previous experience with diagnostic testing, servicing and repairs on heavy plant and defence related equipment including Engines, Transmissions, Transfer Gear boxes, hydraulic and pneumatic components.
  • Proven experience in repair and maintenance of military vehicles or similar equipment.
  • Expertise in engine and transmission strip and build processes.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Knowledge of QHSE legislation.
