The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 £ per hour.
This is a hands-on role requiring a strong presence on the shop floor. You will work closely with production line staff to support them in achieving 100% on-time power-off dates. Ensure kits arrive at the line on time by auditing them for completeness and accuracy. Identify internal shortages and agree on corrective action plans with the supply section to keep power-off dates on track. Support production teams and quickly resolve part availability issues as they arise. Identify root causes of material supply errors and implement corrective actions to improve BOM, MOS, and supply accuracy, reducing future issues. Ensure AX transactions are completed correctly to maintain stock accuracy in production, including transfer orders, scrap journals, and works orders. Set weekly plans and targets to ensure the team meets required daily output. Report daily on any issues related to receiving parts internally. Manage risk assessments, staff training plans, and SDQCP activities. Maintain and control quality levels, promoting high standards throughout the team. Ensure effective communication between departments to maintain smooth machine flow through to the Modular and Assembly area. Ensure Yamazaki Mazak Health, Safety, and Environmental rules and procedures are implemented and kept up to date for staff. Promote a positive culture by engaging staff in improvements and Kaizen initiatives. Drive 5S activities within your team. Report and update section KPI results regularly.
Essential Criteria for the Parts Control Team Leader:
- You’ll be a high-energy, can-do individual who is computer literate, takes full ownership of their work, and is familiar with supply functions including purchasing, stores and logistics.
Desirable Criteria:
- Knowledge of the flow of parts through modular and production section.
- Knowledge of the workings of the Sheet Metal department.
- Proven Leader, with deliverables in all key areas: SQDCP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost & People).
- Understanding of AX transactions.
