We are recruiting for an Infotainment Engineer to join a leading premium UK automotive engineering organisation within its advanced product development and engineering division. This is an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge infotainment systems within a fast-paced, high-profile vehicle development environment.

Position Overview

The Infotainment Engineering function focuses on problem solving, data capture, and requirements validation across complex infotainment systems. You will work across multiple stakeholders and suppliers to support issue resolution, ensure system integrity, and help drive programme delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing system requirements to ensure intended functionality has been delivered, identifying and flagging deviations
  • Capturing and analysing critical diagnostic data to support triage and problem solving (DLT, Wireshark, VLAN, CAN logs, SOME/IP, etc.)
  • Working closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure timely resolution of issues
  • Supporting investigations into critical and showstopper issues to mitigate programme delays
  • Collaborating with triage teams to resolve complex issues across multiple infotainment layers
  • Applying structured problem-solving techniques and industry best practice to drive efficient resolution
  • Acting as a key interface with Product Owners, facilitating cross-team delivery and issue resolution

This is a dynamic environment with regular ad-hoc requests. Flexibility and willingness to work beyond defined responsibilities will be required.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong ability to capture and interpret Wireshark, VLAN, DLT, CAN, and SOME/IP logs
  • Experience using structured problem-solving methodologies (5 Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa, Six Sigma tools)
  • Familiarity with Snapshot and Corvus tools
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Education

  • BEng in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Green Belt Six Sigma Certification (or equivalent)
