What You Will Do:

  • Prepare and maintain existing tooling to meet precise requirements.
  • Identify and rectify day-to-day tooling issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure all production tooling is cleaned, safe, and production-ready, adhering to strict preventative maintenance processes.
  • Support the coordination of engineering changes and assist in maintaining spare parts inventory.
  • Design, make tools/templates for prototype parts, and verify conformance of machined/repaired tools to specifications.
  • Provide feedback and record work undertaken to continually improve tool performance.

What You Will Bring:

  • Completion of a relevant time-served apprenticeship.
  • Exceptional hand tool skills and the ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Experience with Toolroom equipment, including overhead cranes, and inspection equipment.
  • Proficiency in using milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, and bench grinders.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

You may have worked in similar roles such as tool repair technician, tooling engineer, manual machinist.
