A leading UK-based manufacturing business is recruiting a Technical Export Sales Manager / International Sales Manager / Export Business Development Manager to develop and grow its European distributor and end-user sales across EMEA. This is a fully remote role, open to candidates based anywhere in Europe. The role is 100% European-focused from a customer perspective — there are no UK customers. UK travel will be required for training, internal meetings, and company open days.
The Role – Export Sales & Business Development (Europe / EMEA)
As Technical Export Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving export sales growth, business development, and brand recognition across Europe. The role will initially focus on Spain and Italy, with responsibility also covering Portugal, Netherlands and Denmark, and potential expansion into additional European territories. You will work fully remotely from home, with:
- Regular European travel (approximately 7–10 days per month)
- Occasional UK travel to Head Office in the Midlands for training, meetings, and open days or once per week if you are local
- Trips may involve multiple European countries per visit.
Key Responsibilities – Technical Export Sales Manager
- Achieve export sales targets and profitable growth across assigned European territories
- Manage and develop European distributors, resellers and key accounts
- Support distributors with end-user sales, application support and project wins
- Drive business development, pipeline creation and new market entry
- Respond proactively to inbound leads generated by strong marketing investment
- Deliver technical product demonstrations and recommend engineered solutions
- Build long-term, partnership-based distributor and customer relationships
- Support EMEA regional sales strategy and global commercial objectives
- Conduct market research, competitor benchmarking and trend analysis
- Forecast sales, contribute to budgets and deliver management reporting
- Work closely with Product Management, Marketing, R&D and Senior Leadership
- Support new product launches, distributor training and European sales events
Strategic & Commercial Focus
- Build and execute a 5-year European business development strategy
- Identify and target high-value export and international sales opportunities
- Define best-fit technical solutions based on customer applications
- Ensure customer retention, account growth and territory expansion
- Close high-level projects with Commercial and R&D teams
Customers & Markets
- Distributors and resellers across Europe
- End users exclusively within Europe (factories, workshops, OEMs)
- No UK customers
About You – Skills & Experience
- Currently working as a Technical Export Sales Manager, International Sales Manager, EMEA Sales Manager or Export Business Development Manager
- Proven experience managing European distributor networks
- Background in technical, industrial, engineering or manufacturing sales
- Demonstrated success in export sales growth and new business development
- Strong commercial, analytical and negotiation skills
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management ability
- Comfortable working fully remotely with regular European travel and occasional UK travel
- European language skills (Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, etc.) advantageous but not essential
