You will take ownership of projects from concept to completion, from full engine new product introductions to rapid sprint programmes and ongoing product improvements. Using your expertise in CAD (Siemens NX or similar), complex component design, and engineering first principles, you will create robust, validated solutions. Expect to collaborate closely, liaise with suppliers, and mentor engineers to achieve exceptional results.
What You Will Do:- Lead and manage the day-to-day design engineering activities of a dynamic team.
- Deliver on projects ranging from full engine NPI programmes to smaller sprint programmes and current product support activities.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project timescales are met.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to your team, promoting best practices.
- Contribute to process development and offer robust, validated engineering solutions.
- Work closely with analysis teams to iterate and improve designs using engineering first principles.
- Be experienced in design of a variety of engines/engine components preferably medium duty diesel.
- A degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline, with a strong grasp of engineering principles.
- Expertise in CAD systems (preferably Siemens NX) and experience designing engine components, ideally medium-duty diesel engines.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams to success.
- Strong communication and technical documentation skills, with a keen eye for detail and a data-driven mindset.
