What You Will Do
- Produce detailed drawings, design specifications, technical plans, and reports that meet contractual requirements and promote cost-effective design.
- Assist in validating systems and equipment, including creating test schedules, integration plans, and technical reports.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure compliance with technical requirements and quality standards.
- Stay updated on technical advancements and apply this knowledge to ongoing projects.
- Ensure designs prioritise safety, manufacturability, cost targets, EMC, reliability, and maintainability.
- Perform self‑verification of tasks and cross‑check peers' work to ensure quality and completeness.
What You Will Bring
- Must be a UK national due to security clearance requirements.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or relevant experience.
- Proficiency in electrical engineering using 3D software such as CREO or NX.
- Knowledge of drawing standards like BS8888 and geometric tolerances.
- Ability to design components and systems for new products and ongoing development.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and competence in Microsoft products like Excel, Word, and Project.
- Desirable to have an understanding of the basic requirements specified in Def Stan 61-5 Part 6 and Def Stan 59-411.
- Desirable to have experience of the E3 electrical design package.
