My client is a firmly established SME manufacturing company focused on the supply of metal-based components across a range of sectors. They are seeking a Toolroom Improver to join their existing team. As a Toolroom Improver, you will be focusing on maintaining the tools to support production areas and NPI projects.

Toolroom Improver Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of new tools and modify existing tooling
  • Surface grind to tight tolerances
  • Monitor the tool usage and performance across production
  • Fit, trial and modify new tooling for presses
  • Maintain, repair and rebuild tools
  • Use precision measurement tools such as vernier callipers and micrometres

Toolroom Improver Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a Toolroom
  • Experience in servicing and repairing progression tools
  • Experience in CNC and EDM machining would be advantageous
  • Must be able to work to tight tolerances
  • Must be able to work to engineering drawings
