Overview

Commercially driven Indirect Category Buyer who leads FM, Utilities, EHS and Projects spend across multiple sites.

You will shape category strategies, run end-to-end sourcing, and drive measurable value while strengthening stakeholder partnerships.

The role combines strategic sourcing with supplier performance management to deliver value and governance in a cross-functional environment.

You will work closely with operations, finance, HR, and legal to align procurement with business goals and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement category strategies for FM, Utilities, EHS and Project spend
  • Analyze spend and market conditions to identify savings opportunities
  • Consolidate spend across locations to maximise purchasing power
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing: RFI, RFQ, RFP, tendering, evaluation and negotiation
  • Create commercial evaluation models and supplier comparison analyses
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, SLAs, warranties, and commercial agreements
  • Challenge specifications for commercially effective solutions
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance against KPIs and SLAs
  • Lead supplier reviews and corrective action plans
  • Build relationships with stakeholders across Operations, Finance, HR, HSE, Legal, IT, Administration and site management
  • Act as trusted procurement partner within assigned categories
  • Ensure procurement activity complies with internal policies and legislation
  • Key requirements
  • Proven experience in indirect procurement, especially FM, Utilities, EHS and project spend
  • Strategic procurement/category buying experience
  • Background in strategic sourcing, tendering, negotiation, contract management and supplier performance
  • Experience managing spend across multiple sites or business units
  • Strong commercial and analytical capabilities
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Experience with ERP (SAP/ARIBA) and Excel
  • Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering or related discipline
  • Professional procurement qualification such as CIPS is desirable
