Electrical Maintenance Technician – Food Manufacturing
Location: Newport (Shropshire)
Salary: £47,000 – £48,500 per annum (depending on skills and experience)
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off, 12-hour shifts (2 days, 2 nights rotation)
We’re looking for an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team and play a key role in developing and implementing a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule. This is an exciting opportunity to help transform our maintenance approach through Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)—keeping equipment in top condition to avoid breakdowns and improve efficiency.
We are ideally looking for someone who holds qualifications in Electrical Engineering, and preferably has come from the food packaging / manufacturing / food & beverage / FMCG sector.
This role would be a good fit for someone who has worked as an electrical maintenance engineer, shift engineer, maintenance technician, multi-skilled engineer or maintenance engineer with an electrical bias.

What You’ll Do:
- Carry out planned and preventative maintenance to agreed schedules.
- Diagnose, test, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Lead shift-based problem solving and implement improvements.
- Use CMMS systems for data recording and analysis.
- Collaborate with OEMs and suppliers for technical support.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using 5WHY, RCA, and 5S techniques.
- Comply with all Health & Safety regulations and safe working procedures; immediately reporting any concerns
- Follow company policies and food quality management systems.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all work completed.
- Comply with company environmental policies.
What We’re Looking For in an Electrical Maintenance Technician:
- NVQ Level 3, or equivalent, in Electrical engineering
- 18th edition wiring regs
- Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance skills (mechanical knowledge desirable).
- Previous experience with CMMS systems.
- Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and bank holidays when required.
- A proactive approach to reliability and efficiency improvements.
