Body Design Engineer (BiW and Trim) – 0988 – £27.94/hr PAYE rate

What You Will Do:
– Lead design activities for innovative technologies, cost optimisation, and breakthrough ideas, focusing on Body in White (BiW) and trim components.
– Conduct technical studies, including benchmarking, FMEA, and part/system design, while building business cases through cost analysis.
– Oversee validation and adoption of new designs, ensuring alignment with cost, quality, and timing metrics.
– Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, manufacturing plants, and cross-functional teams across Europe, Japan, and India.
– Utilise tools such as NX-CAD and Teamcenter to check 3D data and drawings, supporting the development of high-quality components.
– Play a key role in communication and negotiation with various teams, ensuring smooth project execution and delivery.
What You Will Bring:
– Proven experience in the automotive industry, particularly in body development for mass production, with BiW expertise being highly desirable.
– Strong knowledge of managing Crash, NVH, and Stiffness requirements for BiW components.
– Proficiency in NX-CAD and Teamcenter, with the ability to analyse 3D data and technical drawings.
– Exceptional communication and organisational skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders and summarise technical findings.
– A minimum of HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, with degree-level qualifications preferred.
