A leading global manufacturing organisation is seeking a Mechanical Process Engineer to join its established engineering team in Blackburn. This business partners with high-profile international brands across automotive and industrial sectors, delivering innovative and sustainable product solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Process Engineer to play a key role in maintaining and improving manufacturing performance. The successful candidate will focus on optimising mechanical processes, increasing machine uptime, and supporting the integration of automation within production.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out mechanical maintenance and fault rectification to maximise machine availability
- Analyse and improve existing processes to enhance efficiency, throughput, and reduce waste
- Support the development and implementation of automation systems, including robotics and tooling
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce new processes and technologies
- Assist with tool changes, ensuring equipment readiness and achieving target changeover times
- Set up machinery following tool changes to ensure smooth production start-up
- HNC qualified (or equivalent) with at least 3 years’ post-apprenticeship experience
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Previous experience within manufacturing (plastics processing experience advantageous)
- Exposure to automation technologies would be beneficial
- Improved machine efficiency and uptime
- Reduction in recurring downtime issues
