Our client is a specialist engineering company that delivers a range of products, solutions and technical services within the defence and aerospace markets and they are recruiting for a CFD Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. As a CFD Engineer, your role will focus on delivering a variety of CFD modelling activities and analyses across aerospace related projects. This role will be based at their Bristol office with occasional travel to their client's sites as required.

CFD Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Interact with internal and external customers on a technical and programme level
  • Develop suitable methodologies and conduct CFD analyses at a consistently high standard within budget
  • Preparation, presentation of technical reports and proposals
  • Support the preparation of project management planning documentation including quality, technical and budget plans
  • Maintain the project documentation in accordance with the company’s Quality Management System
  • Ensure delegated tasks achieve their full objectives
  • Manage multiple tasks and deliver within agreed timescales and budgets
  • Interact with other engineers and customers on a technical and project level

CFD Engineer Requirements:

  • Previous experience in CFD Modelling with ANSYS toolsets including Fluent is essential
  • Experienced working in a CFD Engineering related position
  • A qualification in engineering or a relevant discipline
  • Experience with steady and unsteady external aerodynamic flows of civil and/or military aircraft
  • Familiarity with requirements, generation and use of aerodynamic CFD data for certification purposes (desirable)
  • Exposure to aircraft design activities (within industry) and their use of CFD modelling
  • Experience in analysis of aircraft performance, stability and control, flight dynamics (desirable)
  • Programming language experience in use of HPC and automation of ANSYS CFD tasks (desirable)
  • An ability to manage multiple tasks, to work effectively within a team or independently when required
  • Good interpersonal skills, including a diplomatic and professional approach when dealing with people

Candidates may be required SC clearance, therefore applications can only be considered from UK nationals or SC personnel.
