We are seeking a talented and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the full product development lifecycle, from research and development to design, manufacturing, installation, and final commissioning.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Experience of designing water brake dynamometers and/or experience of designing rotating components up to 25,000rpm.
- Designing and engineering mechanical components for our cutting-edge dynamometer systems and related products, ensuring they meet all performance, reliability, and safety requirements.
- Utilizing computer-aided engineering (CAE) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) tools, such as SolidWorks, to create detailed designs and drawings.
- Conducting feasibility studies, testing prototypes, and modifying designs to optimize performance and address emerging issues.
- Collaborating with the Production and Commissioning teams to support the build, installation, and implementation of the final products.
- Maintaining a deep understanding of engineering principles, including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, and materials science, to develop innovative solutions.
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in professional societies.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Preferably 5 years of proven experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong focus on product development.
- Hands-on experience with computer-aided engineering (CAE) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) tools, specifically SolidWorks.
- Familiarity with engineering analysis tools, such as ANSYS or ProMechanica, and mathematical computing software like MATLAB and Excel.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information into clear and understandable terms.
