Test Engineer (Engines) – Small Vehicles and Systems East Midlands – Automotive – Attractive + Benefits Role Description A Test Engineer (Engines) is required to join a Small Vehicle Systems company in the East Midlands. The Test Engineer (Engines) will be supporting the testing and development of prototype vehicle powertrains utilising engine test cells and chassis dynos. The Test Engineer (Engines) will be working alongside the vehicle development and project design teams to ensure product validation. This role will be based fully on-site due to the nature of the testing and calibration involved. Key Duties and Responsibilities for the Test Engineer (Engines) Carry out testing and development in line with company procedures and test plans. Installing and configuring engines into the test cells. Working alongside the EMS team with base engine calibration, etc. Facility and test bed maintenance, calibration and equipment set-up as required. Analyse, process, and present test data as required. Assisting engine build stage and changes during testing procedures. Perform vehicle emissions tests as required. Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required for the Test Engineer (Engines) Experience in relevant engineering field and knowledge in Engine Testing Experience with test rigs and instrumentation Small vehicle electrical testing experience – Preferable Proficient IT skills due to the Technical Set-up and Software Involved. A levels or relevant College and or Engineering Qualifications. Previous experience within engine test cells or chassis dynos and emissions testing. Previous experience with Test and Calibration equipment/software Bobcat and or Puma. Experience with engine calibration tools, test beds, and equipment. Competent timekeeping and attendance are required. Good communication skills and ability to work with others. Strong engineering principles knowledge. A hands-on character with technical skills is essential for this role. Some training and development may be available for the right person.
