We are looking for a Toolroom Support Operative to join a busy, fast-paced manufacturing environment. Working alongside experienced Toolmakers, you will play a key role in ensuring production tooling is maintained, prepared, and ready for use. This role offers a clear progression pathway into a fully skilled Toolroom/Die Maintenance Technician.

The Role:
- Support the maintenance, repair, and preparation of production tooling
- Assist Toolmakers with planned and reactive maintenance activities
- Carry out tool cleaning and preventative maintenance tasks
- Assist with machining operations (lathe, milling, grinding)
- Support tool assembly, alignment checks, and testing
- Perform basic inspection using gauges and measuring equipment
- Help identify tooling issues and support problem resolution
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping (5S) and safety compliance
- Work closely with production and quality teams
What we are looking for:
Essential:
- Engineering apprenticeship or qualification (NVQ, BTEC or similar)
- Strong interest in engineering, manufacturing, or toolmaking
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely
- Strong attention to detail and organisation
Desirable:
