Are you an experienced Procurement Manager looking for the opportunity to make a real impact within a growing manufacturing business? You will have the autonomy to develop the procurement function, strengthen supplier relationships, and build a high-performing team while supporting the continued growth of the business. We are looking for a leader who can motivate and develop others, introduce best practice, and drive continuous improvement across purchasing and stores.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a team of 3
  • Lead the procurement function across a busy manufacturing business
  • Manage the purchasing of raw materials, components, services and subcontracted work
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers while negotiating the best commercial agreements
  • Develop procurement strategies that improve cost, quality, delivery and supplier performance
  • Introduce and improve procurement processes, controls and best practice
  • Lead, coach and develop the purchasing and stores team
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure inventory supports operational requirements
  • Identify opportunities for dual sourcing, supplier rationalisation and cost reduction
  • Work closely with production, engineering and commercial teams to support customer projects
  • Ensure suppliers meet quality and compliance requirements
  • Produce regular procurement reports and performance data for senior management

About You

  • Previous procurement experience within a manufacturing environment is essential
  • Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation skills
  • A proven leader who can develop people, improve performance and build a positive team culture
  • Experience implementing new processes and raising standards across a procurement function
  • Confident working with ERP systems and procurement reporting
  • Able to influence stakeholders across all levels of the business
  • CIPS Level 5 or working towards it would be an advantage
