We are seeking an experienced Head of Product Management & Engineering to lead product strategy, development, and engineering governance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the full product life cycle, from idea generation through to launch, ensuring all initiatives are commercially viable, operationally ready, and aligned to business strategy. You will lead the stage-gate development process, strengthen cross-functional collaboration, and ensure robust decision-making across Product, Engineering, Operations, and Commercial teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and deliver the company product strategy aligned to market opportunities and business goals
- Own and manage the product roadmap (NPI, enhancements, rationalisation, phase-out)
- Drive structured product life cycle management from concept to withdrawal
- Prioritise projects based on value, feasibility, profitability, and resource availability
- Oversee business case development including ROI, NPV, IRR, cost and margin targets
- Ensure financial data supports all key decisions
- Identify and escalate risks or deviations from targets
- Align teams across Product, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales & Finance
- Define clear decision-making frameworks and accountability
- Prevent uncontrolled product changes or technical commitments
About You
Experience
- Engineering, Product Development, or Business-related degree (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience in product management, NPI, R&D or engineering leadership within manufacturing
- Strong experience working within a stage-gate / structured product development environment
- Experience in engineering change management (ECR/ECN) and life cycle management
- Background working cross-functionally across technical and commercial teams
- Experience supporting technical sales enquiries or customer applications
