Our client, Yamazaki Mazak is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leading Machine Tool manufacturer who have been at the forefront of the industry for many years. Jonathan Lee Workforce Solutions are the preferred supplier to Mazak. We are seeking an organised and assertive Production Supervisor (Sheet Metal).
Job Description
- Setting weekly plans and targets to ensure the team meet the required daily output.
- Report daily on any issues with regards to receiving parts internally and the smooth flow of machines through the area.
- Monitoring and control of budgets.
- Responsibility for the control of risk assessments, staff training plans and SDQCP activities.
- Maintenance and control quality levels promoting high standards throughout the team, ensuring that we continue to complete machines to the highest quality standards.
- Ensuring the communication between departments and sections results in an effective supply and smooth flow of parts.
- Ensuring Yamazaki Mazak Health, Safety and Environmental rules and procedures are implemented, and information within the department is always up to date and available to the staff.
- Promote a positive culture amongst staff by engaging them in health and safety improvements and kaizen initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement activities.
- Drive 5S activity within your team.
- Report and update the sections KPI results.
- Manage and lead a team of technicians and operators.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- Proven leader, with deliverables in all key areas: SQDCP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost & People).
- Can do attitude.
- Experience working within a Supervisory role.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.
- Knowledge of quality control standards and inspection processes.
- Commitment to maintaining health and safety compliance in the workplace.
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions quickly.
- Strong decision-making skills under pressure.
- Experience in planning and scheduling production to meet deadlines.
- Ability to manage resources efficiently and reduce downtime.
- Proven ability to manage, coach, and develop a team to achieve production targets.
- Skilled in handling performance issues and fostering a positive work environment.
- Strong conflict resolution and communication skills.
