The Role
As Production Maintenance Manager, you will take full ownership of the site maintenance function, leading a skilled engineering team and driving a step-change in equipment reliability, uptime and maintenance maturity. You will be responsible for moving the operation from a predominantly reactive model to a fully planned, data-driven and preventative maintenance culture, aligned to best-in-class manufacturing standards. Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement and embed a robust preventative and predictive maintenance strategy across all production equipment.
- Drive measurable improvements in machine reliability, uptime and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Own maintenance planning systems, ensuring disciplined execution and high-quality engineering standards.
- Use maintenance and reliability data to identify failure trends, root causes and long-term corrective actions.
- Manage maintenance budgets, spares strategy and external contractor performance.
- Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives with Production and Engineering to optimise plant performance.
- Establish and sustain a proactive, improvement-led maintenance culture across the site.
- Ensure full compliance with safety, quality and engineering standards at all times.
About You
We are seeking an experienced engineering or maintenance leader who thrives in complex manufacturing environments and is motivated by driving real operational change. You will bring:
- Proven experience leading maintenance or engineering teams in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong background in implementing preventative and reliability-focused maintenance strategies.

- Excellent understanding of maintenance KPIs, data analysis and performance improvement.
- Strong leadership capability with experience developing and engaging technical teams.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets and engineering resources effectively.
- Confidence operating at senior level and influencing across production, engineering and operations.
- A practical, hands-on engineering mindset combined with strategic thinking.
- Experience within precision engineering, machine tools, automotive, aerospace or other high-spec manufacturing environments would be highly advantageous.
The Opportunity
This is a high-impact leadership role within a globally respected engineering organisation, offering the opportunity to shape maintenance strategy at a site that values quality, precision and continuous improvement.
You can expect:
- Competitive executive-level salary package.
- 8% employer pension contribution.
