Our client, Yamazaki Mazak is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leading Machine Tool manufacturer who have been at the forefront of the industry for many years. We are looking for a skilled and motivated Powder Paint Operative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying powder coatings to metal components, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet customer specifications and industry standards.

Job Description

  • Prepare and clean surfaces prior to coating.
  • Operate powder coating equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Apply powder paint to components following technical guidelines.
  • Hang parts on the power line track for coating and remove them after processing.
  • Pick and organise components for coating according to production schedules.
  • Carry out quality checks to ensure all products meet required standards.
  • Perform 100% kit verification before processing to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Inspect finished products for quality and consistency.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience in powder coating or a similar role (preferred).
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices in a manufacturing environment.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Knowledge of different powder coating techniques and finishes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or job sheets.
  • Forklift licence or experience handling materials safely.
  • Basic maintenance skills for coating equipment.
