Our client is a recognised and successful family business who provide top-quality construction tools, site supplies and consumables across the UK. In support of their continued activity, we are seeking an experienced Finance Director to provide financial and commercial leadership stability, increasing profits in line with their ongoing growth.
Reporting to and working closely alongside the Managing Director and senior leadership team, this position is critical in supporting and maintaining strong financial control and reporting, as well as contributing to the business’s future expansion. Working from their offices in Worcester, the Finance Director will:
- Review and analyse the performance of the business and provide this analysis to the MD and senior leadership team on a timely basis including quarterly updates.
- Ensure all reporting including annual financial statements and tax reporting are completed within deadlines including the delivery of monthly management accounts.
- Ensure financial records are complete and compliant.
- Act as the key point of contact for internal stakeholders on finance matters including supporting the business’s strategic decisions (investment etc...).
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance function and department, including:
- Ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers.
- Manage and improve debt collection / accounts receivable processes.
- People and process management.
- Maintain oversight of cash flow and working capital.
- Identify and address any immediate process gaps or risks.
- Have experience of using NetSuite to support reporting and financial activities.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role.
- Strong understanding of core finance operations (AP, AR, reporting, cash flow).
- Have suitable financial qualifications.
- Have experience of leading and managing a finance team in a product movement/fast paced organisation.
- Experience of business partnering and commercial analysis.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexibly to meet tight month and year end deadlines.
- Strong communication skills to be able to establish effective working relationships across a business.
- Hands-on, pragmatic approach with strong attention to detail.
- Experience with NetSuite is highly desirable.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
