Electrical Commodity Buyer Worcester £34,921 to £48,063 per annum plus excellent benefits, including 8% pension and private healthcare The Company Our client, Yamazaki Mazak, is a leading global machine tool manufacturer based in Worcester, offering an excellent opportunity to join an established and innovative business. An opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Commodity Buyer to source and negotiate electrical components and assemblies, drive cost savings and ensure quality, continuity of supply and on-time delivery. You will work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, Planning and suppliers to support manufacturing and new product introductions. Job Description Source and negotiate electrical components for new products and machine options Drive cost reductions through negotiation, value engineering and global sourcing Support make-versus-buy decisions and develop commodity procurement strategies Manage supplier performance, relationships and development Identify supply chain risks and ensure continuity of supply Maintain supplier records and ensure compliance with ISO procedures, statutory requirements and supply chain regulations, including CBAM and UK/EU sanctions Person Specification Essential Criteria: Degree in a related subject or CIPS qualified Minimum 3 years' purchasing, procurement or supply chain experience within an OEM or manufacturing environment Strong negotiation, supplier management and commercial skills Strong Excel, data analysis and general IT skills, including ERP systems Understanding of global supply chain compliance and risk management Strong cost analysis, planning and communication skills Understanding of project and production planning Strategic mindset, sound decision-making and a team-focused approach Desirable Criteria: Knowledge of supply chain concepts and processes Understanding of electrical components, assemblies and relevant standards Ability to read engineering drawings and electrical schematics Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Organised, adaptable and able to work under pressure The successful candidate can also expect the following: Join a successful, multinational manufacturing company Excellent career potential 8% Pension Contribution Private Health Care Death in Service Package Full Sick Pay 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays Free Parking Subsidised Restaurant If this Electrical Commodity Buyer opportunity sounds right for you, please call to discuss further or email me at the address supplied.
