As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you will:
- Design bespoke lifting equipment, taking projects from concept to detailed manufacturing drawings.
- Collaborate with sales and manufacturing teams to ensure technical requirements are met.
- Perform calculations by hand, Excel, and FEA to verify designs and ensure compliance with standards.
- Provide technical support during production, testing, installation, and commissioning stages.
- Produce statutory documents, quality records, and operation and maintenance instructions.
- Manage multiple projects at various stages of development while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will have:
- A minimum of an HND in Mechanical Engineering, with a BSc preferred.
- Proven experience in designing special-purpose machinery, ideally lifting equipment but good mechanical and hydraulic equipment would be considered.
- Proficiency in CAD being able to use AutoCAD, Inventor, Vault, and Microsoft Office applications for design activities being advantageous although other systems will be considered.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and British/International engineering standards.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team.
