An established manufacturing business in Coventry is looking to recruit an experienced Production Team Leader to join its Press Shop operation. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be responsible for leading a small production team, ensuring daily production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety and housekeeping. You'll play a key role in driving continuous improvement, developing your team and supporting day-to-day manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and supervise a small team of production operators.
- Ensure production targets are achieved safely, efficiently and to quality standards.
- Promote a positive working culture focused on teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Conduct team briefings and support the development of operators.
- Monitor housekeeping and ensure Health & Safety standards are maintained at all times.
- Troubleshoot equipment and production issues to minimise downtime.
- Set up presses or assembly equipment following training and procedures.
- Operate production equipment when required to support output.
- Manage consumable stock levels and raise maintenance requests where necessary.
- Complete production documentation and pass off production runs.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience as a Team Leader, Supervisor or similar leadership role within manufacturing.
- A background in manufacturing or engineering.
- Strong people management skills, including dealing with HR-related matters.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- A good understanding of Health & Safety in a manufacturing environment.
- An FLT licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
Working Hours
This role operates on a rotating shift pattern averaging 37.5 hours per week. Early Shift (5-day week) Monday-Thursday: 6:00am-2:15pm Friday: 6:00am-12:30pm Back Shift (4-day week) Monday-Wednesday: 2:00pm-12:00am Thursday: 2:00pm-11:30pm A shift allowance is paid in addition to the hourly rate for 31.5hrs over a 2 week period.
