What You Will Do:
- Have responsibility for the design, development, sign-off and release of powertrain components.
- Support the customer team to identify, analyse and resolve complex problems and requirements in the field of structural and/or electrical components, battery components, ICE or fuel cell.
- Follow automotive development processes from concept to production, ensuring all designs meet industry standards.
- Apply your knowledge of manufacturing processes, material selection and tolerance design to create components that are both innovative and practical.
- Develop FMEA and design verification test plans, ensuring robust and reliable components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions that meet project requirements.
What You Will Bring:
- A degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive, or Mechatronics Engineering (or similar), with a strong academic background.
- Knowledge of design for manufacture (manufacturing processes selection, material selection and process control technologies), machining techniques and technologies and tolerance design.
- Ability to interpret CAE and CFD analysis data to determine impact on the component design.
- A solid understanding of powertrain systems, including ICE, hybrid systems, battery systems, or fuel cells.
- Proficiency in GD&T, FMEA, DVP&R, and 8D techniques.
- Exceptional communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively.
- A motivated, flexible, and solutions-focused attitude, with a willingness to travel between other sites and suppliers within the UK and internationally when required.
