What You Will Do:
– Create and refine technical blueprints, drawings, and simulation models using advanced CAD/CAM/CAE software.
– Define and control all geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) information to ensure design accuracy.
– Collaborate with teams to select the most suitable materials for sub-components and ensure robust fixing methods such as adhesives and fasteners. – Design components for optimal manufacturability and develop jigs and fixtures for assembly processes.
– Conduct digital prototyping and design simulations to verify safety, reliability, and efficiency of engineering designs.
– Manage design verification test plans and support engineering test teams in resolving hardware issues.
What You Will Bring:
– Proficiency in CAD software such as CATIA or equivalent, with the ability to design and manipulate mechanical components.
– Strong understanding of GD&T, FMEA, and associated manufacturing processes like diecasting, injection moulding, and machining.
– Experience in performing bolted joint and adhesive force calculations, ensuring design robustness.
– A proactive, self-driven approach with excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
– Familiarity with quality methods such as 8D and Design for Six Sigma, ensuring high standards in design and manufacturing.
