Manufacturing and Engineering
We are looking for a proactive, commercially minded Buyer to join this well-established Purchasing team and play a key role in keeping the manufacturing operation running smoothly. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where you will manage suppliers, control material availability, and work closely with internal stakeholders to support business performance.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing day-to-day purchasing activity to ensure materials are available exactly when needed
- Owning a defined supplier base, including MRP purchasing and safety stock replenishment
- Handling indirect and ad-hoc purchases, quotations, and tender packages
- Expediting orders and proactively resolving supply issues
- Managing supplier performance, KPIs, and relationships to maximise value
- Supporting quality issue resolution and invoice discrepancy queries
- Attending and leading supplier meetings, including on-site visits
- Preparing and analysing purchasing data to support decision-making
- Collaborating closely with internal customers across the business
- Supporting complex projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensuring compliance with ISO standards, company policies, and processes
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a Buyer or Procurement role within a manufacturing or operational environment
- Strong commercial awareness with confident negotiation skills
- Experience managing suppliers and resolving issues under pressure
- Good working knowledge of ERP systems
- Solid Excel skills (with Word and PowerPoint)
- CIPS qualification (desirable)
