Overview:
We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Technician to join our clients specialist engineering and manufacturing environment focused on the assembly and integration of advanced automated and process systems.
This is a hands-on role suited to a mechanically skilled technician who has experience working with precision mechanical assemblies, engineering drawings, high-accuracy measurement equipment and complex machinery including breakdown, repairs and troubleshooting.
You will be involved in the mechanical activities including adjustment, alignment and integration of advanced equipment, ensuring assemblies are completed safely, accurately and to the required quality standards.
The role would suit candidates with backgrounds such as Mechanical Fitter, Mechanical Assembly Technician, Precision Mechanical Fitter, Mechanical Technician, Machine Assembly Technician, Mechanical Integration Technician or Metrology Technician.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out mechanical assembly and integration activities on complex automated and process equipment.
Interpret engineering drawings, mechanical blueprints and assembly documentation.
Prepare the required materials, components, tools and equipment before commencing assembly activities.
Assemble, adjust, align and position mechanical components to required specifications and tolerances.
Use precision measurement and metrology equipment to verify dimensions, alignment and positional accuracy.
Use equipment such as laser trackers, interferometry systems or similar high-precision measurement technology.
Measure and assess characteristics including straightness, positioning, angularity and alignment.
Carry out mechanical adjustments to achieve the required accuracy and performance.
Assemble and tighten bolted joints in accordance with the relevant technical procedures and specifications.
Work with mechanical, pneumatic and, where required, electrical systems as part of the wider equipment integration process.
Identify and report technical issues that may affect the assembly, quality or delivery of the equipment.
Record assembly progress, issues and measurements accurately and clearly. xgikmsk
