Are you an experienced Technical Manager seeking a new job opportunity? Do you have previous experience from within the food manufacturing industry and live in Shropshire? We are actively looking for a Technical Manager to join a leading food manufacturer based in Shrewsbury (Shropshire). The working hours for this role are day shifts Monday to Friday (40 hours per week), and the annual salary is up to £55,000 per annum (DOE).
The hiring manager would prefer someone who has previously worked with red or white meat, but they will consider people who have worked with other products within the food manufacturing sector. A qualification in a food-related subject would be highly advantageous, but is not essential.
What You Will Do:
- Lead the Food Safety Culture and develop, maintain, and improve the Food Safety & Quality Management plan to ensure full adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Take ownership of the site's Food Safety & Quality Management System, driving continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen compliance and operational quality.
- Provide leadership to the QA team and support wider site teams by identifying training needs, coaching effectively, and building strong working relationships.
- Lead on certification standards, FSS and customer audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory, certification, and customer expectations.
- Manage customer relationships by ensuring complaints are addressed promptly and close out actions are completed against agreed targets.
- Serve as HACCP Team Leader and TACCP Team Leader, maintaining robust validation and verification of process compliance so production meets quality standards and import requirements.
What You Will Bring:
- Previous experience from within the Food Manufacturing industry - ESSENTIAL
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to delegate, influence, and drive results across multiple stakeholders.
- Confidence leading audits, managing customer requirements, and supporting continuous improvement through clear technical reporting.
- Desirable: A food-related qualification such as Food Technology or Food Science
- Experience with Red or White meat
