Job Description
The Role
- Generate and manage Installation packs for new machine orders.
- Develop working solutions with our local suppliers to address any issues experienced during and after machine installation.
- First line technical support to the sales and administration teams, assisting with any pre-sale queries, including machine specification and special option requirements.
- Working with key suppliers and internal Mazak departments to manage local supply options offered to ensure they are technically accurate and meet requirements.
- Support of iConnect and M2M as we expand both our customer base and functionality available to our customers.
- Implement new functionality, content & options as they become available.
- Identify elements of each order that require additional actions to meet CE compliance.
The Person
Essential Criteria
- Knowledge of machine tool technology.
- Understanding of Electrical & Mechanical parts list manuals & drawings.
- Broad knowledge of locally supplied equipment included in a typical machine installation (bar feed, chucking systems, automation etc...).
- Clear communication at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving ability, together with a flexible approach to a varied workload.
Desirable Criteria
- Proven track record supporting customers with technical issues & training both over the telephone and onsite.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM systems.
- Understanding of CE Compliance (including creation of technical files).
- An engineering qualification to HNC/HND level desirable but not essential.
