TIG WELDER FABRICATOR - JOB VACANCY IN LETCHWORTH

Do you have previous experience working as a TIG Welder, TIG Welder Fabricator or Fabricator Welder, and are you looking for a permanent job that can offer you regular overtime?!

We are looking to recruit an experienced TIG Welder Fabricator for a sheet metal fabrication business based in Letchworth, the working hours are 8am-4.30pm Monday to Friday (40 hours per week) with overtime available and paid at T1/2, there is an option for an earlier finish on a Friday should you wish to work 43 hours basic in the week.

The basic rate of pay will come down to experience, but the starting hourly rate will range between £19.00 - £21.50 per hour.

The hiring manager is looking for someone that has experience in TIG welding & fabricating thin gauge stainless steel and aluminium.

Immediate weld test opportunities are available, with a start to follow ASAP for the right candidate.

What You Will Do:

  • Carry out TIG and MIG welding on a variety of metal components, with a strong focus on stainless and aluminium
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches and production information to prepare products for manufacture
  • Carry out dimensional inspection prior to welding and complete quality checks on finished parts
  • Fabricate and assemble metal structures to specification
  • Dress and fett le your own work to achieve a high-standard, precise finish
  • Follow safety guidelines, maintain a tidy work environment, and flag any risks to quality or efficiency to a team leader

What You Will Bring:

  • Proven experience as a TIG Welder Fabricator, ideally with experience in welding thin gauge stainless steel and aluminium.
  • Confidence reading and interpreting technical drawings and fabrication instructions.
  • Experience welding stainless and aluminium, including working with thinner materials up to 6mm.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly around inspection, finishing, and producing high-quality welds.
  • Practical capability with hand tools and power tools, supported by a safety-first mindset.
