The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Feature Configuration Analyst to join the Engineering team of a leading global automotive OEM, based at Gaydon.

The Feature Configuration team sits within Product Information and is responsible for managing product configuration data across the full range of products. The data supports key processes throughout the product development lifecycle, through to customer vehicle ordering.

The team is currently undergoing a period of transformation while continuing to deliver its core day-to-day requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret inputs from Engineering, Marketing and other business functions and translate these into accurate, usable configuration data.
  • Carry out data modelling activities to create feature configuration data within the corporate system.
  • Ensure configuration data supports downstream systems, processes and business users.
  • Complete data quality and validation activities, ensuring a high level of accuracy and preventing non-buildable conditions from reaching manufacturing.
  • Analyse and manipulate data using Microsoft Excel.
  • Identify and implement improvements to existing technical and business processes.
  • Work with stakeholders across Engineering, Marketing and other functions to understand requirements and translate them into feature coding logic.
  • Support wider team and departmental improvement initiatives.

Key Requirements

  • Experience working with complex data and completing detailed tasks with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong data analysis and manipulation skills, particularly using Microsoft Excel.
  • Good organisation, project management and workload management skills.
  • Ability to understand information from different sources and translate it into structured data or business requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
  • Comfortable working in a complex, fast-paced environment and managing competing priorities.

Desirable Experience

  • Degree-level qualification in Engineering, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience with VBA, SQL, Tableau or similar data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of Product Definition processes.
  • Experience working within an engineering, automotive or product development environment.
