We are seeking a dedicated professional Transactional Specialist to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the finance team in a high growth organisation and will be responsible for participating in the day-to-day processes of the team. Reporting into the Transactional and Credit Control Manager and working for a selection of companies within the Ceres Portfolio, you will be responsible for the delivery of accounting information within a high-performance culture. Vesta operates in a casual working environment and promotes both team and individual growth. This role is based in Wallingford, but Vesta operates across multiple geographical locations and therefore the role may require some travel to UK sites.
To be successful in the role you will also need a high degree of personal initiative and the ability to interact with non-financial managers and staff at all levels. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Transactional Specialist to progress and begin a career with the Company.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Match supplier invoices to purchase orders/goods received documentation and ensure they are appropriately authorised, and booked into accounting system.
- Resolve any discrepancies and deal with supplier queries.
- Ensure that customer invoicing, supplier invoices, expenses and other transactional type tasks are delivered to an acceptable standard and within allotted timescales.
- Ensure month end tasks are completed including handovers to management accountants and other analytical/control information such as run rates and deferred pivots.
- Ensure the support and other inboxes for all systems (GP, Concur etc.) are adequately covered and the service to end users is efficient. This will include the monitoring of performance versus SLA’s.
- Assist in projects for systems or process improvements as well as projects provided by the Divisional Finance Manager or your direct manager.
- Contribute to the success of the overall corporate strategy.
- Process cash allocation where necessary.
- Implement improvements to existing processes/systems as required.
- Involvement with integrations of new business units.
- Undertake ad hoc and other finance duties as required.
- Complete accurate and thorough handovers to the management accountants at month end.
- Manage, lead and develop direct reports.
- Contribute to the implementation of new ERP or CRM systems regarding Transactional functionality where necessary.
- Provide relevant training to new and existing team members.
- Assist with external/internal audit requirements, including deliverables including samples to the external/internal auditors.
- Create good working relationships with team members and both internal finance stakeholders and the business stakeholders within the Pallas portfolio.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- AAT qualification would be advantageous.
- Previous experience in transactional functions.
- Commercial acumen and financial analysis skills.
- Excellent IT skills including a high level of proficiency in Excel.
- Experience of Microsoft Great Plains and Concur software would be an advantage.
