Jonas Software Europe (Jonas), a subsidiary of Constellation Software Inc. (TSX: CSU), acquires, strengthens and grows vertical market software companies enabling them to be leaders within their focused industry.
Our UK and European portfolio is currently comprised of many growth-oriented companies. In addition to supporting their organic growth initiatives we are actively and constantly looking to acquire new businesses that expands our ever-growing portfolio of Jonas owned companies.

We are now continuing our M&A investment by supplementing the existing team with an experienced professional to be responsible for leading the Corporate Development team. This newly created position will lead our M&A corporate development team efforts across the UK and Europe.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
As a senior member of our team reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, you will drive our Corporate Development activities by overseeing the team. You will be critical to the success of the team and will be responsible for building relationships with software business owners and advisors with the goal of building, maintaining, and executing on a deal pipeline sufficient to meet our targets.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the Corporate Development team to maintain and build a proprietary database of industry contacts and acquisition targets.
- Maintain equal to or above performance against team and personal targets.
- Report on the activities of team and lead prospecting to the CIO.
- Engage with target shareholders, senior executives and external advisors regarding deals.
- Analyse industry and company specific information and present findings to Jonas senior executives.
- Work with team to consult on and understand prospecting campaigns of mid-market technology businesses through email, outbound calling, marketing activities and attendance at trade shows and conferences.
- Work directly with the Jonas executive team in early stages of the M&A process, including the Jonas Europe CEO and other Jonas and CSI executives.
- Regional and international travel will be expected as the role develops.
- You will be expected to add value through the entire M&A cycle, working within a fast-paced M&A team and senior executives within our organisation.
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- 5 – 10 years experience in Corporate Development, Private Equity, Investment Banking or Capital Markets.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills with the confidence and polish to speak with Senior Executives, owners of target companies, professionals and investment bankers/brokers.
- Self-motivated and energetic, with the ability to remain focused on results and diligent in a fast-paced environment.
- Very well organised and detail-oriented, you will be able to lead and inspire a team of dedicated and action-oriented individuals.
- Proven experience of developing and leading a high performing corporate development team.
- Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM systems is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of the technology sector, and in particular vertical-market software, is a huge plus.
