Our client is seeking a skilled CAD-CAM Designer with extensive experience in vector-based modelling within the jewellery industry. This is a hands-on position that requires creativity, technical expertise, and an eye for detail.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Creating vectors from conceptual artwork: You will work closely with designers to transform concepts into precise, workable vectors.
  • Building fully modelled reliefs in Carve Co: You will use your expertise to craft detailed and accurate reliefs, ready to be machined into dies, castings, and other applications.
  • Collaboration with the production team: You will play a key role in the jewellery-making process, working alongside highly skilled artisans and machinists to ensure that each design is brought to life with precision.
  • Technical problem-solving: You will troubleshoot and resolve any design or production challenges that may arise during the design-to-production process.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A minimum of four years' experience in the jewellery industry, with a solid understanding of jewellery manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software: You should be highly skilled in using Adobe Illustrator, Carve Co, Art Cam, and Rhino for jewellery design and vector modelling.
  • A strong understanding of jewellery manufacturing techniques: Experience in the full production cycle, from design to finished piece, will be highly valued.
  • Attention to detail and precision: You will need to ensure all designs meet the company’s high standards of quality and craftsmanship.
  • Experience working with a variety of materials: You should be comfortable designing for both precious metals and gemstones, understanding how to work with these materials at every stage of production.

In addition to the core requirements, the following skills and experience would be advantageous:

  • Tool making: Experience in the creation and maintenance of tools used in the jewellery production process.
  • Die sinking: Expertise in the preparation of dies for casting and other production processes.
