Based just outside WOKINGHAM, ROYAL BERKSHIRE
Brimming with passion for their Jewellery making speciality, our client’s expertise has been firmly based on the owners traditionally taught bench crafting which has stood the test of time.
Having tested their skills across many differing everyday jeweller tasks, this business owner took the initiative to create their own entity and rather be driven by brands, be challenged directly by customer master goldsmith needs.
Job Role:
This formula to place the businesses workshop firmly at the disposal of prospective clientele is an exciting departure from a more standard High Street setting. The future direction is to major in Bespoke Jewellery Design whilst retaining a capability for Jewellery Repairs/Alterations and offering a professionally recognised valuation service.
Favourable recommendation to friends and family has now rippled out far & wide beyond their expected local customer service market and the company is looking to invest further in colleagues who can similarly make a real difference.
This is a rare opportunity for a recent to trade bench/jobbing jeweller to further develop the wide gamut of skills required when producing, manufacturing, or repairing jewellery items.
Our client has a wealth of experience and jewellery production talent based on shared workshop experience of many years. As they now look to build their Goldsmith resources in-house the time has arrived to afford other like-minded bench professionals perhaps the kick start & increased variety of jewellery making challenges that they themselves have benefited from and within a free-flowing atmosphere encourage and develop this talent to equally flourish.
The work variety is wide, spanning every conceivable jewellery repair, ring making, polishing, sizing, setting. Looking forward their Workshop intention is to develop their own manufactured suites of jewellery made by & sold by Thomas William Jewellery on site – ready for clientele to collect & wear.
Requirements:
It is felt that there is a need for some basic previous experience in general jewellery repairs and some evidence of specific jewellery fabrication / training would be advantageous.
* It would additionally be a good team fit if like the business owner – you enjoyed controlled dialogue with visitors as never an unwelcome interruption!
* To control all to the level of best perfection the business is fortunate to have a rigorous pair of in-house eyes ever eager to QC to a point of universally accepted perfection – you will share in appreciating these non-negotiable bench work standards.
There aren’t in our experience too many similar industry role(s) keen to induct, train and heighten to the maxim a less experienced Jeweller colleague -so from this perspective we expect to hear from genuinely enthused candidates who like our client is keen to see this role be the professional making of them
