Electrical Design Engineer

The Role
As our Eplan Design Engineer, you\’ll be responsible for developing electrical design deliverables, including schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and control systems, using EPLAN Electric P8 and Pro Panel. You\’ll collaborate closely with mechanical, control, project, and service teams to deliver safe, efficient, and manufacturable systems that transform the way goods are moved.
This is a permanent, full-time role based at our Liverpool site, working Monday–Thursday 8am–4.30pm and Friday 8am–2.30pm. While office-based, you\’ll occasionally travel to client sites to see your designs come to life.

Key Responsibilities
- Design detailed control panels and electrical schematics using EPLAN
- Collaborate with PLC programmers to integrate Siemens (S7, TIA Portal) and Rockwell hardware.
- Select appropriate components and ensure designs meet IEC, UL, and NFPA standards.
- Work with engineers across disciplines to deliver manufacturable solutions.
- Produce accurate documentation, including cable schedules, harness diagrams, and test plans.
What we\’re looking for
- Proven experience in control panel design for automation.
- Experience designing systems for conveyor equipment, with knowledge of material handling processes.
- Knowledge ofSiemens PLCs(S7, TIA Portal) andRockwell PLCs(ControlLogix, CompactLogix).
- Experience with industrial automation and conveyor/material handling systems.
- Certification in EPLAN or PLC programming, AutoCAD Electrical experience, or knowledge of HMI systems preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
