Supports the Store Manager in daily operations, team management, store standards, stock management and delivering excellent customer service to pet parents. Following recent growth, we are looking for a talented individual to serve as the Deputy Manager in our Whitehaven store.
Role – Deputy Manager
- Support the Store Manager day‑to‑day and take full responsibility for running the store in their absence, managing people, financial performance, store standards and customer service.
- Lead by example, creating a culture that reflects our values: Genuine, Wise, Eager, Focused, Together.
- Ensure exceptional customer service and product knowledge (training given).
- Deliver highest standards of pet care, prioritising pet welfare and responsible ownership.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager with daily store operations.
- Manage staff, scheduling and performance.
- Maintain store standards, health & safety, legal compliance and KPIs.
- Oversee stock management and visual merchandising.
- Provide excellent customer service and product knowledge.
- Promote responsible pet ownership and welfare.
Skills & Experience
- Passion for pets and people; delight customers.
- Previous retail management, deputised for Store Manager.
- Strong team‑building and communication skills.
- Track record of business performance, KPI achievement.
- Commercial awareness, proactive, planning and organisation.
- UK driving licence and own transport for out‑of‑hours or cover.
Full‑time, permanent (40 hours/week, 5/7).
