Support the Store Manager day-to-day and take full responsibility for all aspects of running a successful store in their absence. Managing people, financial performance, store standards, customer service. Lead by example creating an excellent culture and working environment for your team, demonstrating our values of being: Genuine, Wise, Eager, Focused, Together.

Ensuring you and your team are delivering exceptional customer service by providing a great shopping experience for customers and displaying strong pet product knowledge. Delivering the highest standards of pet care and ensuring that the welfare of pets is a top priority, promoting responsible pet ownership.

To be successful in this role, joining as a Deputy Manager you'll need the following skills and experience:

  • A passion for pets and people, delighting customers with an unrivalled shopping experience.
  • Previous retail management experience, with deputising for the Store Manager and taking a hands-on approach to managing the business daily.
  • A team player capable of communicating effectively and building high-performing, highly engaged teams.
  • Proven track record in developing business performance and exceeding KPIs, whilst delivering the highest levels of store standards including health & safety and legal compliance.
  • Commercially aware with proactive planning and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to travel to other stores in the region, own transport and a UK driving licence.

Full-time, permanent position – 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7. Salary Β£26,000 – Β£28,500 p.a. plus bonus potential Β£1-5k p.a. (subject to reaching pre-agreed measures). Supporting the Store Manager in daily operations, team management, store standards, stock management and delivering excellent customer service to our pet parents. This role is part of a growing team at an award-winning pet retailer with over 100 stores and a deep commitment to sustainability and community.
