Company Description
Jolly Josh, based in Rochdale, is a local charity dedicated to providing peer support and safe spaces for children with profound disabilities, complex needs, and their families and carers. Founded by Carole in memory of her son Joshua James, Jolly Josh aims to connect families, support them, and inspire inclusion. Since its inception, Jolly Josh has supported numerous families and professionals, creating a thriving community. Jolly Josh is a purpose-built center with facilities including a hydrotherapy pool, Changing Places, and a sensory room, hosting Stay & Play sessions, sing and sign , sensory touch and music, and visiting healthcare professionals.
Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site role for a Community Fundraiser located in Rochdale 25 hours a week with possible evening and weekend work for events. The Community Fundraiser will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing fundraising events and campaigns. Daily tasks include networking with local businesses and sponsors, creating promotional materials, and liaising with volunteers and community groups. Working alongside our current Fundraiser to promote events and ensuring compliance with relevant fundraising regulations.
Qualifications/ experience
- Experience in planning, organizing, and executing fundraising events and campaigns
- Strong networking skills with the ability to engage local businesses and sponsors
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in managing fundraising databases and creating promotional materials
- Experience in collaborating with volunteers and community groups
- Knowledge of marketing strategies to promote events
- Understanding of fundraising regulations and compliance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in the non-profit sector is a plus
- Hold a UK British driving licence and willing to drive to events.
