Senior UI Designer

The Company:

My client is a global leader in the online learning and immersive education space. They are a fun, purpose-driven, and energetic global community that thrives on continuous learning and fearless innovation.

They are now looking for a Senior UI Designer to join their passionate creative team.

The Role:

You will lead all digital design and website builds. You'll shape the future of their website, ecommerce flow and digital design language to drive engagement and improve ecommerce conversion through user centric design. All with a mobile-first mindset.

Specifically, you will:

  • Lead UI design and development for their website across mobile and desktop to drive engagement, signups and ecommerce growth.
  • Utilize a diverse array of design techniques from concepts and wireframes, to designs and prototypes all in Figma.
  • Build and maintain their website using their CMS platform Storyblok, ensuring accuracy, consistency and quality across all web touchpoints.
  • Champion a user-centric approach to UI design using qualitative research and quantitative data from their user research teams to guide design decisions and iterations.
  • Evolve their digital design system, UI components and graphics to elevate and unify all their brands digital touchpoints.
  • Collaborate across teams and functions from creative and copy to tech and product.
  • Present concepts, rationale and outcomes to senior leadership.

Must-have hard skills:

  • 5-8 years professional UI/digital design experience. Ecommerce experience highly desirable.
  • Extremely high level of proficiency in design tools and methodologies, including but not limited to Figma, wireframing, workflow diagramming, and prototyping.
  • CMS site-building experience: design and publishing content and pages within a CMS (Storyblok)
  • Mobile first designs are your bread and butter. You understand user flows, design psychology and an ability to wireframe and design solutions that drive engagement and ecommerce growth.
  • Proven track record designing for A/B tests.
  • Experience with design systems and scaling design across large sites for multiple languages.

Must-have soft skills:

  • Concept-to-completion ownership with proactive problem-solving and high accountability.
  • Clear, confident communication with cross-functional partners and non-creative stakeholders.
  • Collaboration & feedback literacy—giving/receiving notes, iterating quickly.
  • Organised & detail-obsessed, with strong prioritisation across multiple streams.
  • Self-motivated and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.

Portfolio:

The client is interesting in seeing 4-6 recent pieces that showcase:

  • Desktop and mobile website designs (ecommerce example highly desirable)
  • Wireframing and prototype designs with a clear understanding of the customer funnel.
  • Examples designing and building component libraries for multi-language websites with component variations for A/B testing.
  • Responsive email template designs for marketing campaigns desirable.
