Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their Global Content Delivery team. This role combines engineering and operations skills, focusing on automating and improving operations for WBD's extensive media delivery infrastructure. The SRE team is responsible for guaranteeing system reliability, performance, and supportability across major brands including Max, D+, CNN, and others globally.
The position requires expertise in managing fleets of remotely deployed servers and working across the full technology stack - from control plane systems down to physical hardware. You'll be involved in everything from initial network topology design to hardware deployment, monitoring, and logging implementation. The role demands strong problem-solving abilities and cross-team collaboration skills.
As an SRE at WBD, you'll work with exabytes of content delivery, building autonomous solutions that deliver value to end-users. You'll be responsible for designing and implementing systems that ensure reliable content delivery across WBD's global infrastructure. - Build orchestration systems for managing fleets of remotely deployed servers
- Work on full stack environment from control plane to physical hardware lifecycles
- Design and deliver software for reliability, scalability, and efficiency
- Conduct on-call duties and troubleshoot incidents
- Enable Cloud, DevOps, CI/CD, and monitoring strategies
- Coordinate with Platform Engineering team for deployment automation
- Manage and govern media delivery infrastructure for Max, D+, CNN, and other WBD brands globally
Requirements:
- Go, Python
- BS Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or Mathematics or equivalent experience
- Experience with FreeBSD or other BSD based OS's
- Proficient in one of: Golang, Rust, C, C++, Python, Bash
- Experience with AWS cloud services
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker/Kubernetes
- Strong debugging, testing, and analytics/SQL skills
- Experience with build automation and CI/CD
- Expertise with monitoring or log aggregation tools
- Understanding of server hardware, datacenter operations, and networking principles
