Joint Academy is a physiotherapist led digital osteoarthritis and musculoskeletal pain treatment that combines physical activity, education, and healthcare professionals that are always on hand. Patients access physiotherapists using the Joint Academy app, and our physiotherapy team provides expert assessment and support throughout the course of treatment. We are seeking passionate physiotherapists to join our team in the UK and help us shape the future of healthcare. This role is well suited to someone seeking part time clinical work from the comfort of their home. The service is designed to work around you and your patient, so to a large extent the times you work are up to you.

JOB SUMMARY:The postholder must be living in the UK, and will:
- Provide a high standard of physiotherapy service to musculoskeletal digital patients via the Joint Academy app.
- Provide specialist advice regarding the musculoskeletal physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis and treatment for patients joining the service.
- Participate and lead in the department’s ongoing audit and appropriate work related research/evaluation projects in areas relevant to the clinical field.
- Be able to work 10 hours + per week.
Clinical:
- Perform skilled physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex and acute/chronic physical conditions and injuries.
- Assess patient understanding of treatment proposals, gain valid consent and have the capacity to work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent to treatment.
- Be professional and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work including the management of patients in your care.
- Use clinical reasoning skills to provide an accurate clinical diagnosis.
- Advise patients to consult other medical and health care professionals as necessary.
- Clarify and explain the patient’s condition to them to enable the formulation of realistic agreed treatment goals and plans.
- Deal sensitively with the patients, relatives and carers of patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients to ensure informed consent for assessment and treatment, providing the patient with good understanding of their conditions and maximise their rehabilitation potential.
- Keep abreast of evidenced based practice in the musculoskeletal field, participate in CPD sessions and ensure good working knowledge of national and local guidelines.
- Manage and prioritise own clinical caseload efficiently and effectively.
- Follow legal, ethical, professional and organisational policies/procedures and codes of conduct.
- Involve patients in decision making and supporting adherence as per NICE guidance.
- Be highly self-motivated, enthusiastic, positive and want to work as part of a successful team to take over an existing caseload.
- Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (MCSP).
- Member of the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC), registration as physiotherapist and responsibility for maintaining this registration.
- BSc (hons) Physiotherapy.
- Satisfactory completion of all Joint Academy Pre-employment checks including Enhanced DBS vetting and mandatory training.

- Must have a minimum of 2 years post-graduate clinical experience in the assessment and treatment of a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions.
- Must be comfortable with technology and digital platforms.
- Desirable: Membership of Special Interest Group MSc.
- Competent IT skills: ability to create and/or format databases and/or spreadsheets using computerised systems.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Adaptable.
- Good communicator.
- Good team member with sound judgement and decision making.
