To be responsible for the effective day-to-day running of the residential home, managing a team of staff and work allocations, as well as undertaking direct work with children when necessary. To take full responsibility for all aspects of the residential setting.
- To work in accordance with current legislation including The Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards 2015, The Children Act 1989 and 2004, and all other relevant legislation.
- To take overall responsibility for all regulatory requirements associated with Ofsted registration and the home’s Statement of Purpose.
- To lead the home and staff team through Ofsted inspections and ensure continuous readiness.
- To embed the strategic vision and values of the business within policies, procedures, and management practices.
- To ensure all safeguarding risks are identified and acted upon immediately, with appropriate measures taken to mitigate risk.
- To communicate effectively and in a timely manner with all internal and external stakeholders.
- To work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary framework, promoting equality and inclusive practice at all times.
- To undertake and participate in all required training and development programmes.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Have Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in residential childcare, with at least 3 years in a senior position.
- Experience of assessment, care planning, and reviews.
- Evidence of effective partnership working.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation including Children Act 1989, Care Standards Act 2000, and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
- Knowledge of therapeutic models.
