We are recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established commercial vehicle main dealer (premium manufacturer) based near Blackburn. This is a workshop-based position, working on modern trucks and trailers, carrying out servicing, diagnostics, MOT preparation and repairs to a high standard. The business offers a structured, professional environment with strong workshop processes and manufacturer support. Both day and night shifts are available, with enhanced rates for night work.
Hours:
- Dayshift 40hrs / week Monday – Friday half day (Saturday AM optional).
- Nightshift Monday – Thursday 46hrs 19:00 – 07:00
Key Responsibilities
- Servicing, maintenance and repair of HGVs and trailers
- MOT preparation and safety inspections
- Fault finding and diagnostics
- Completing job cards and workshop documentation accurately
- Working to DVSA and manufacturer standards
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised workshop
Essential Requirements
- Apprentice trained and qualified to NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (HGV / Heavy Vehicle or equivalent)
- Proven experience maintaining and repairing HGVs to MOT standard
- HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence with fewer than 6 points
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Able to work under pressure in a safe and responsible manner
- Organised, reliable and punctual
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Main dealer or manufacturer experience
- Class 1 (C+E) licence
