Job Title: Cook Responsible to: Coffee Shop Manager: Hawick Department: Coffee Shop Main Purpose: To support the day-to-day operation of the Coffee Shop kitchen by preparing and presenting food to a consistently high standard. Contribute to delivering an efficient, safe and well-organised kitchen, ensuring exceptional quality, hygiene and service at all times. Key Result Areas 1. Kitchen Support & Delivery Prepare and cook menu items in line with company standards, recipes and presentation guidelines Support the smooth running of the kitchen during service, ensuring timely delivery of food Work collaboratively with the kitchen and front of house teams to ensure an excellent customer experience Assist with set-up, service and close-down procedures 2. Food Preparation & Standards Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and portion control Follow all food hygiene, safety and allergen procedures at all times Complete daily records including cook safe logs, temperature checks and cleaning schedules Ensure all ingredients are handled and stored correctly to minimise waste and maintain freshness Support with basic food preparation and menu item execution 3. General Kitchen Duties Keep the kitchen clean, organised and compliant with hygiene regulations Assist with stock rotation and storage (FIFO principles) Report low stock levels or issues to the Coffee Shop Manager or supervisor Support with receiving and checking deliveries as required Promote safe and efficient working practices within the kitchen 4. Teamwork & Communication Work effectively as part of a team, supporting colleagues during busy service periods Communicate clearly with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations Be proactive in identifying issues and supporting solutions Maintain a positive and professional attitude 5.
