We have an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate with a numerical or business-related degree to join a luxury Scottish clothing brand. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop valuable skills and gain hands-on experience within a fast-paced merchandising team. This is a fixed-term role for 12 months, working Monday to Friday. The role is based in Elgin, Scotland. Salary for this role is £26,577 per annum, based on 38 hours per week.
About the Role
As a Trainee Merchandiser, you will play a key role in supporting the merchandising function and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the business. Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting up and maintaining product information within internal systems, ensuring accuracy and resolving any issues
- Supporting the ordering process, including raising purchase orders, adjusting stock replenishment settings, and following up on production
- Coordinating stock allocations and redistributions across stores
- Assisting with photoshoots, including critical path management and the organisation of retail and wholesale samples
- Running regular reports, analysing data, and providing insights on opportunities and risks to support business decisions
- Supporting the creation of seasonal store product setup guides
- Attending and contributing to regular trade meetings
- Acting as a first point of contact for store and online queries, helping to ensure a seamless customer and retail experience
- Supporting the wider merchandising team with ad-hoc tasks and projects
About You
We’re looking for someone who is motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to build a career in merchandising. You will have:
- A degree in a numerical or business-related discipline
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong communication and organisational skills
