We’re hiring seasonal support staff to help during our busy period. We’re looking for enthusiastic candidates who, ideally, can start at around 11 of May and work through to mid-September 2026. There may be an opportunity for this to be extended depending on business needs. This is a temporary position with these shifts available:

  • Dayshift (38 hours) – working 0700 to 1600 Monday to Thursday, 0700 – 1100 Friday
  • Backshift (34 hours) – working 1600 to 0100 Monday to Thursday.

Rate of pay for this role is £13.08 per hour, increasing to £13.45 per hour from 1 May 2026.

About the Role

As a Needlework Operative here at Johnstons of Elgin, you will be focusing on hand sewing labels or adding logos to our luxury products, such as scarves and blankets. Additional duties might include adding embroidered logos, removing backings and additional threads, whilst working with great attention to detail, you will nonetheless aim to achieve the required output levels to meet our production plan.
