We are seeking an experienced Commercial Finance Analyst to join our Business Analysis team at Johnstons of Elgin. This role is pivotal in driving commercial performance through insightful analysis and strategic business partnering. You will work closely with our Chief Commercial Officers, other senior stakeholders and the finance team to provide actionable insights that influence commercial decision making, pricing strategies, product profitability, and margin optimisation. You will also play a key role in budgeting and forecasting processes. This is a full time, permanent position working 38 hours a week, Monday to Friday. The role is based in Elgin, with the option to work from home, provided the successful candidate can travel to our Elgin site regularly. Salary for this role starts at £45000 depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted business partner to the Chief Commercial Officer (Brand) and Chief Commercial Officer (Private Label) and their teams.
- Deliver insightful analysis on performance drivers, identifying opportunities for growth and efficiency.
- Analyse product costs and margins, providing recommendations to improve profitability and developing pricing models.
- Develop an in depth understanding of the product costing process and drive continuous improvement.
- Create profitability models and business cases for commercial opportunities to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with the finance team in producing monthly management information for commercial areas and provide analysis into financial performance.
- Support the development of forecasts and budgets, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Prepare and present high-quality reports and dashboards for senior management using Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a commercial finance role, ideally within a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working for an international brand with both wholesale and retail sales would be advantageous.
- Excellent data analysis skills including advanced excel are essential; experience in Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI is desirable.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to influence and challenge decisions.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field and/or a professional finance qualification. Support for further education and training would be available if appropriate.
